New on Blu-ray and DVD is the action thriller I Am Number Four.

From Producer, Michael Bay (Transformers) and Director DJ Caruso (Disturbia) comes the story of a young man struggling with acceptance and identity.
Always on the run from a ruthless group who won’t stop until he’s dead, John starts realizing something’s different about him when his hands could easily be substituted for flashlights in the darkest of rooms.

All joking aside, I thought this was a great movie.  I don’t normally give star ratings in my reviews, but if I did, this movie would get 4 out of 5 stars from me.
I think the only issue I could find with it at all was that there are some definite similarities between John’s (and later Number Six’s) abilities that parallel X-Men a bit too closely.

John struggles with trying to blend in with society while at the same time having to try not to be too outstanding so as to be noticed.  For if a single photograph or video with him in it were to end up on the internet and end up staying there too long, it would make it all to easy for those who hunt him to find him.  Proof that you really need to be careful with social networking these days!

There’s a definite wide-opening for a sequel here too, and I think I’ll be rather disappointed if that doesn’t end up happening.

Be sure to check out the bonus features for several deleted scenes as well as a behind the scenes look at Teresa Palmer’s workout and stunt training to become a truly butt-kicking force as Number Six!

This one’s rated PG-13 so be sure to use discretion with younger viewers!
