Stan Lee has died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after being rushed there for a medical emergency earlier today.  Lee was 95 years old.

Stan started out as an assistant at Timely Comics (which would become Marvel years later) as an assistant to the inkers, making sure their wells always stayed full of ink.  He would go on later to create (or co-create) such characters as Spider-Man, Hulk, Fantastic Four, Silver Surfer and others.  Lee became the face and voice of Marvel comics and has had numerous cameos in Marvel films and television shows.

Lee had recent health issues in the past few years, revealing just earlier this year that he was recovering from a bout with pneumonia.

Stan, along with Jack Kirby, was named a Disney Legend in 2017 for having created numerous characters that would comprise Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe.

We thank you for everything you’ve given us.

EXCELSIOR!
