It’s never too early to start thinking about plans for a movie’s sequel, especially when the original netted $447 million worldwide.

It seems that Disney is in early talks to get a director for 2013’s Thor sequel and Brian Kirk seems to be at the top of their list.  Kirk is the director of HBO’s wildly popular Game of Thrones and it appears that his work on that show and it appears that the show’s basis in the fantasy genre as well as his ability to juggle multiple directorial gigs is what has him in the running for the job.

Thor (played by Chris Hemsworth) is one of the central characters in 2012’s Joss Whedon directed “The Avengers” and the success of the original Thor movie, as well as the predicted success of neext year’s ultimate Marvel hero team-up should be enough momentum to perpetuate interest in the sequel by fanboys movie-goers.
