Hard to believe it’s only been eight years since Marvel Studios first launched with 2008’s Iron Man.  Since then, they’ve updated their opening logo a couple of times.  If my count is accurate, this makes the third change to the logo.  At first glance, my thought was “Oh, that looks good”, but then I saw the video.

Revealed earlier tonight at Marvel’s Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con, the video shows the new opening sequence that precedes the start of their movies.  No longer is the flipped comic book pages that interlaced with the word “MARVEL”, instead, there’s a transition from the original flipped pages to still images and then on to footage from all the previous Marvel Cinematic Universe films woven into their name.  Plus, there’s a beautiful new orchestral score to go with it.
