Fans of the current Marvel Cinematic Universe have been a little concerned lately over Robert Downey, Jr’s status for future movies.

It wouldn’t be the first time that an actor could be replaced (Terrence Howard, I’m talking about you here) over a salary dispute.  The rumor has been that Downey, Jr. was fighting for a pay increase…for his Avengers co-stars though, and not for him!  I don’t know if that’s really true or not, but it would be awesome if it was.

Nevertheless, Marvel.com reports that Downey, Jr. has just signed a new 2 picture deal that keeps him in the role of Tony Stark (Iron Man) for Marvel’s The Avengers 2 and Marvel’s The Avengers 3.

There was no mention of him doing any future (dedicated) Iron Man movies, though.

I have had the discussion with friends over the rumors of him not playing the character anymore and we’re all in agreement that we honestly can’t see anyone else trying to fill his shoes suit.  RDJ is Iron Man!
