So, I just wrapped up watching the pilot episode of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (ironically titled, Pilot) and I am STOKED to see more!

This isn’t an official “review” but I wanted to draw out a few (spoiler-free) points to the new series.

The action got going in the first few minutes, which really draws you in as the viewer.

Director Joss Whedon uses some of the actors he’s formerly worked with in some of his previous TV series:
J. August Richards (Charles Gunn from Whedon’s TV series “Angel”)
Ron Glass (Shepherd Book from Whedon’s TV series “Firefly”)

Cobie Smulders (Agent Maria Hill) has a cameo in the pilot episode.  Could she possibly become a series regular later?  Her CBS show, How I Met Your Mother, is about to start its final season.  So, that could possibly free her up for more “regular” work on the S.H.I.E.L.D. series after HIMYM wraps up.

There are very obvious plot and technology connections to Marvel’s The Avengers movie and Iron Man 3.  Just watch and you’ll figure that out.

My favorite episode highlight would have to be the “Truth serum and interrogation” scene.  It was hilarious.

If you haven’t seen the episode yet and didn’t DVR it, I’m guessing that HULU will probably be carrying episodes after broadcast.  The link to their show page is http://www.hulu.com/marvels-agents-of-shield
