The Main Street Electrical Parade has wowed audiences since it first made its debut at Disneyland Resort back in 1972. Now, 45 years later, it will return to its original home at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim California. With nightly shows, this limited-time event will begin on January 20th and will run through June 18th. After that, it’s anyone’s guess as to what will happen to it next. Will it go back to Walt Disney World Resort in Florida? Will it stay in its original home at Disneyland and come back again on a later date? Maybe they can fit it in over at Disney California Adventure? Or perhaps, gasp, it will finally be retired???
Whatever happens next, we’ll be sure to keep you posted.
A TV commercial has already started to run which teases the parade’s return. It also preys on the nostalgia of an older generation by teasing a host of, now defunct, Disneyland attractions that have shut down permanently throughout the years. While there’s not a high quality version available yet, YouTuber “Mousegamer Presents” has a copy up for all to see.
Mousegamer Presents has even gone so far as to put up an annotated copy of the video which points out the many Easter Eggs they have been able to locate.
