One of two major announcements from Disney Pictures yesterday was that a movie titled “Frozen” will be released on November 27, 2013.

Lots of blogs and movie sites reported the news yesterday, but a bunch of them had incorrectly reported (or guessed) as to which movie “Frozen” actually was.  I also had heard the news, but held off on reporting it here, as I was seeing conflicting reports between two possible movies.

The folks at Cinema Blend seem to be fairly confident in reporting to us today that “Frozen” will be Disney’s previously shelved version of “The Snow Queen” and not Pixar’s “The Untitled Pixar Movie About Dinosaurs” that we first heard about at the D23 Expo in August.

So, it looks like the Pixar Dinosaur movie will be moved to a different date and we’ll find out when that is (hopefully with the “official” title announcement) later.

For those of you who haven’t previously followed the history on The Snow Queen “Frozen”,  it’s based on the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale which was first published in 1845.  Disney has tried to bring this story to the big screen more than once over the years.  It was scrapped back in 2002 and then again in 2010.

It’s unknown at this time whether this will be a hand-drawn or CG animated film, but we’ll be sure to bring you more details as they surface.
