Disney Parks Chairman, Tom Staggs, announced plans today to implement the new MyMagic+ experience at Disney Theme Parks.

At the center of the MyMagic+ experience is a wristband that the park guest wears that contains an RFID chip.  There will also be a website and a mobile app that tie into the MyMagic+ experience as well.  The band can be used to replace Disney Park admission tickets, FastPass+ for attractions, Disney PhotoPass cards, hotel room keys for Disney Resort properties and can even be optionally tied into a payment account to make purchases.

Disney filed a patent on the Magic Band device back on 9/26/2012, and started testing the device at their Florida parks last month.
